Although there are many places I have not visited in Havana and the places where you can eat and drink are always improving and increasing in number, these are my favorite places, I hope you find this useful.
1. Santo Domingo Bakery & Coffee:
You can have breakfast on the second floor and below, at the bakery, you can buy delicious little bits, croissants, cakes and pastries, everything to take on the go and eat as a snack while touring the city, a good alternative for those traveling with children.
Address, Bishop 159, between San Ignacio and Mercaderes, Old Havana.
2. The Ivory Tower:
A large Chinese restaurant where the air conditioning is always on. It also has a small cozy garden patio with lots of plants. We chose to sit inside in the pagoda. Our evening was livened up by a very nice Chinese fortune teller, wearing a kimono. The portions are generous and the vegetables were crispy, everything was delicious and of course, it went very well with a mojito.
Address, Mercaderes 111 between Obispo and Obrapía.
3. Nacional Hotel:
If you can not stay here, it is also possible to visit to have some coffee or a mojito; its art deco architecture is impressive although some facilities are a bit worn out. Strolling through the gardens, one can imagine Frank Sinatra. It is worth visiting this place full of history. Address, Calle 21 and O Vedado.
4. Bianchini Sweets shop:
Tiny, cozy, near the gallery of graphic designers. The quiches, the croissants and lattes are delicious, tastefully decorated and it makes you feel like you are in Paris.
Address, Sol street 12 e / oficios and av. Del Puerto Habana Vieja.
5. Lamparilla Cafe:
It is a fairly new place where you can sit on the terrace to enjoy a cocktail while you watch people; you can also eat sandwiches.
Address, Lamparilla between Mercaderes and San Ignacio
