6 fun things to do in Lima with children

It can be difficult to keep children entertained while traveling with children to a city like Lima, that’s why  I would like to share some tips for a stay in Lima more adapted to families traveling with small children. My 12 years old son loved these activities.

1.The Magic Water Circuit:

An immense park with water fountains and gardens. The park is open day and night, most people go at night to see the lights show but the kids get tired and sometimes, at night they just want their bed. That is why I advise you to go during the day, it is quieter and children can run in freedom, there is no danger of cars or bicycles because it is only pedestrian.

If it is good weather they can get wet in one of the pools, so it is advisable to carry an extra change of clothes.

For more information: Circuito Mágico del Agua del Parque de la Reserva.

2. Olive Grove El Olivar (Bosque El Olivar) in San Isidro:

A park with beautiful olive trees, in this place children can play with the ball, go on a scooter or observe the squirrels that pass by.

An advice to make it more especial, before coming here, go to one of the bakeries that are nearby. In Conquistadores street you can find Don Mamino, it has delicious cakes that you can take to the park for a small picnic. Visit Forsquare to see its location.

3. Divercity in Jockey Plaza:

A theme park where children can practice different professions, firefighter, pilot, doctor etc. It is located in the Jockey Plaza shopping mall, where moms can shop, here you will find the best brands under one roof. For more information visit the website of Divercity. Visit forsquare to see its location.

4. The bowling at Larcomar in Miraflores:

Larcomar shopping center will surprise you with its architecture overlooking the sea. The bowling is located in the basement, next to the bowling there are also two games rooms. Combine this visit by trying a sandwich at La Lucha (Gaston Acurio is the owner) in the food court and treat them for an ice cream at Pinkberry. I am sure they will spend a nice and fun time!. For more information visit the official Bowling Larcomar website. Visit Forsquare to see its location.

5. The best Peruvian pancakes in Palachinke:

This place exists since 1978, I used to go there as a child. The pancakes are huge and the menu is varied, sweet or salty, let your imagination decide. It is located on the corner with Av. Diagonal overlooking Kennedy Park in Miraflores where there is also a small play area for children and many cats. For more information visit Palachinke website in Miraflores. Visit Forsquare to see the location.

6. Ride the scooter or bike looking at the Pacific Ocean, Lima.

You can start your tour from the Park of Love and then head towards the lighthouse. It is quite and safe since access to cars is prohibited. Take a ball to play in one of the parks and watch people Paragliding, my best time to visit this place is during the afternoon to see the sunset . Visit forsquare to see the location.
