I am really enjoying living in Singapore but I wanted to take a break from the hustle and bustle of the city and Pulau Ubin was the perfect place for a day trip.
I could still spot authentic wooden houses on this small island. Locals looked very relaxing people to me, to get there is a short distance with one of the bumboats from Changi Village. This place is still un-urbanized, people use to come here for a day trip but there is also a campsite if you decide to sleep over.
When I reached this small island it seemed that I had travelled back in time, the contrast between leaving the skyscrapers and modernity of one of the Asian tigers and seeing how people still live preserving their traditions on this small island was a nice experience.
The beautiful island of Ubin, a little piece of nature with mangroves and trees where cars almost don’t circulate, after a bike ride I arrived to this boardwalk where it seems that I had the sea just for myself.
I enjoyed walking in nature and disconnecting from the city for a while.
