It is an airport where you usually go through the migrations control quite fast.

Most tourists arriving in Lima are staying in Miraflores but no matter where you San Isidro, downtown Lima, San Borja or any other place, getting out of the airport can be a bit difficult.

Buses:

To take a bus, first of all, you need to walk and leave the airport then take one of the buses that will take you to your destination. I personally do not recommend it, first because the buses stop everywhere (where someone stretches his hand) second because they are crowded and third because it will take you a lot of time, traffic in Lima can be overwhelming.

Cab:

Recently there have been a few episodes of robberies of tourists taking taxis from the airport, the best is to ask someone from your hotel to send someone to pick you up or use a company taxi from the airport.

Obviously, the rates for the taxis that are in the airport are a little higher than the ones of the street taxis, but your security comes first.

There are some taxi companies that have an application for the phone:

Taxi beat (I’ve always used Taxi beat) Easytaxi and Uber with these applications you can order your taxi from wherever you are and even select the type of car you prefer, the rate will appear on the screen and there will be no surprises about the rates.

In 2016 a fairly reasonable rate was 50-55 soles from the airport to Miraflores calculate a minimum of 45 minutes without traffic.

I hope this information helps you and I wish you a nice stay in Peru!
