Here are some pictures I took of the the 5,000 (aprox.) geometric salt pans of Maras, a town located 48 km. northwest of the city of Cusco in Peru. The salt grains which have a pink color, have been gathered since the Incan empire. The Maras salt is well known for its healthy benefits, unlike kitchen salt, it does not go through a refining process. I think that all the white pools together, in combination with the bright and strong sun of the Andes make these captures “Out of this world”.
